What's PR got to do with it? Ed Lee
Ed Lee has been around EDA since before it was called EDA. He cut his teeth doing Public Relations with Valid, Cadence, Mentor, ECAD, VLSI, AMI and a host of others. We’re 25 days and counting to the annual industry conference, DAC. As always, people are talking…what’s the theme this year? This young man has an idea….. Click here to find out what it is Last year, EDA360 was the at- & post-DAC talk of the town, so to speak. So is there any continuity this year? Atrenta seems to have made the first move in making the EDA360 vision real. It’ll come out of the chute as “The SoC Realization Company,” and probably show technology that implements SoC Realization. Atrenta’s re-branding of “I Love DAC” as a dating site for seniors is one of the best examples of “sell what you have” that I have seen in a while. This sets a standard that other EDA firms need to be mindful of, clearly topping the “Flat and Scruggs” tribute video from Gary Smith and Bob Gardner (see http://www10.pcbcafe.com/video/48th-Design-Automation-Conference-What-Hot-DAC-2011-Bob-Gardner-Gary-Smith/34757/media.html )
Future DAC archivists looking back in five or ten years will surely make note of these as harbingers.

John, you are absolutely right! Strange how I shook my head at Burson-Marsteller secretly taking on the Facebook project. I thought it would have been fine if BM disclosed. We should have too, here. From here on out, we will note that we work for a client who gets featured on our blog. Thanks for pointing it out.
