IP Ecosystem: DAC wants You!

December 10th, 2014 by Peggy Aycinena

The powers-that-be at DAC want to hear from you if you’re involved in the IP industry in any way: IP providers, IP tool vendorsIP methodology experts, and IP users of all kinds.

They want all of you and the good news is, it doesn’t matter in which technical niche you play: low-power IP, IP implementation, IP subsystems and integration, verification IP, or IP strategies and management.

Also, because the last few years at DAC have provided powerful proof-of-concept validation that the Design Automation Conference community really wants to talk about IP, the IP Track is clearly now a critical plank in the infrastructure of the conference.

But don’t believe me; believe the DAC Executive Committee: “The IP Track provides an opportunity for experts in the field to deliver presentations and/or poster  sessions on IP-related topics, and to host panels and invited talks on timely IP related issues.”

Hopefully this is good news for all of you and will provide renewed enthusiasm for you and yours to participate and present at DAC 2015.

Particularly because the EC also says: “The DAC IP Track Committee will consider favorably any proposals that fit into our IP session matrix which address some part of the Internet of Things marketplace.”

In other words, wow: The world has turned and IP is here to stay.

Not only has IP embraced its seat at the table at DAC, but with IoT, low power, subsystems, verification, and strategic project management on the menu, the IP community is now sitting at head of the table at the conference.

Clearly, you should be there, but word to the wise: Ask for separate checks.

Meanwhile, here’s the link to submit your ideas. The folks who run DAC want to hear from you.

DAC 2015: June 7th to 11th in San Francisco …

Michael “Mac” McNamara of Adapt-IP and the IP Chair for DAC 2015 is quoted in the Press Release: “We were extremely pleased with the participation and level of content presented last year at the IP track and know this year will once again surpass expectations.

“Semiconductor design IP providers, IP users and designers of tools that automate the assembly and verification of SoCs built with IP, as well as the providers of embedded software will once again have an opportunity to network and learn from each other.”
