Industrial grade, proven Open Source RISC-V CPU IP

- Technological Innovations: “What major technological advancements or innovations do you foresee occurring in your industry in 2024, and how do you plan to adapt or lead in these areas?” [Flo] We expect an acceleration in use of Open Source CPU Cores to speed up design time and flexibility (modifying Cores, which is not allowed or easy with commercial tools) by adding more custom instructions.
- Market Trends: “How do you predict consumer behavior and market trends will evolve in 2024, and what strategies are you implementing to meet these changing demands?” [Flo] last year Semiconductor markets have slumped, we expect to see a recovery soon with a possible over demand by end of the year 2024. This will increase spending in Semiconductor and bring a lot of new devices using OpenHW Group RISC-V Cores
- Artificial Intelligence Integration: “How do you envision the role and impact of artificial intelligence in your industry in 2024, and what steps is your company taking to integrate AI into its operations or offerings?” [Flo] AI will get even bigger acceleration this year and we will add AI to any SoC. To achieve this in the bet possible way we will see the use of custom instructions and we predict a standardization on custom CPU instructions and an marketplace for AI or ML accelerators on standardized RISC-V interconnects such as CV-X-IF driving by multinational Companies under the OpenHW Group umbrella. This also must and will include the SW Ecosystem such as Compilers but also Software tools, we believe this also will open complete new business models and drive more innovation in not yet seen ways.
Flo serves as CEO of the OpenHW Group a not-for-profit, global organization driven by its members and individual contributors where hardware and software designers collaborate on open source cores, related IP, tools and software projects. His primary mission is to accelerate the adoption of high-quality, open-source RISC-V cores in mainstream applications while making it accessible for newcomers to join the vibrant RISC-V ecosystem. Previously, Flo played a pivotal role as head of sales for EMEA and Japan at Andes Technology. He successfully introduced RISC-V CPU IP to leading multinational corporations and pioneered its adoption in emerging sectors, including automotive, medical, and security.
