DAC Looms! It’s time to start examining the Conference Program and figure out how you’re going to spend your time in the first week of June when you’re attending the Design Automation Conference next month in San Francisco at Moscone Center. Super Sunday … Sunday is never a Day of Rest for DAC attendees, and Sunday June 3, 2012 is no exception. First, there are 4 co-located conferences happening in Moscone Center on DAC Sunday: * IWLS: International Workshop on Logic Synthesis There are also 7 DAC-related workshops: * CMOS Design at 60 GHz & Beyond But you’re not done yet, because then there’s the EDAC Reception on Sunday evening, an annual by-invitation-only favorite of many, followed by Gary Smith on EDA, also at the Marriott Hotel up the street from Moscone Center, who will be offering his 24th annual State of the EDA Nation address, which is more than an annual favorite. It’s an annual institution and needs no invitation. Just show up. You’re fairly warned, however, that Smith et al in 2012 will be offering information and predictions only — not food or beverage — so you better plan on eating and drinking afterwards on your own dime! So, what am I going to do on Sunday? I’m going to split my time, hopefully, between the Sunday afternoon workshops on Heterogeneous Environments and Bio-Design Automation. Then, I’m going to attend Gary Smith’s talk, and then I’m going to go eat dinner up the street from the Marriott, on Union Square at Lefty O’Doul’s, which is cafeteria style, noisy, cheap and a San Francisco institution. How about you? What are you doing at DAC on Sunday, June 3rd? ********************* Tags: DAC, Design Automation Conference, EDAC, ESLsyn, Gary Smith, HOST, IWLS, Lefty O'Doul's, Moscone Center, San Francsico, SLIP, Sunday Workshops |
