The long wait is over –– the ES Design West website is live and registration is open! We’re hosting the co-located event during SEMICON West at San Francisco’s Moscone Center (South Hall) July 9-11 to promote and highlight system design innovation. Take a stroll through our colorful website chock-full of details about this brand new expo. You’ll find we have our own unique brand, identity and area for design ecosystem members including our own “Meet The Experts” Theater. Presentations and panel discussions will showcase commercial successes of the design ecosystem, including IP, EDA, embedded software, design services, design infrastructure and design in the cloud. Any visitor to the ES Design West website will learn quickly it is about to become the must attend expo promoting and highlighting system design innovation. We’re focused on showcasing the commercial aspects and successes of the various segments of the electronic system and semiconductor design ecosystem. Co-locating at SEMICON West provides a venue that naturally brings the entire electronic product chain together in one much larger event.
Long gone are the days when SEMICON West primarily featured semiconductor manufacturing equipment and materials. SEMICON West is all about systems in the larger context of the entire electronic product design and manufacturing chain. The 2019 theme is “Beyond Smart” and features many verticals including Smart Design (that’s us!), Smart Transportation, Smart MedTech, Smart Manufacturing, Wearable Technologies and even a Smart Workforce Pavilion. Count on plenty of opportunity for networking and participating with SEMICON West’s large community that is involved across the electronic product design and manufacturing chain. Helping us meet the goals of ES Design West is an Advisory Committee of senior industry executives who developed a comprehensive program to appeal to all of us from the electronic system and semiconductor design ecosystem. No program would be complete without a keynote. Ours will be given by Aart de Geus, chairman and co-CEO of Synopsys. A vibrant exhibit floor makes an event special and ES Design West will be extra special with exhibitors such as ANSYS, Arm, Cadence, CAST, Cliosoft, ICManage, Mentor, a Siemens Business, Silvaco and Synopsys. Registration, program details, an exhibitor prospectus and so much more can be found on the ES Design West website. Check it out and let us know what you think. Be sure to follow ES Design West on Twitter: #ESDesignWest and @ESDAlliance See us at SEMICON China and DATE Julie Rogers and I will be at SEMICON China next week where we are hosting an Executive Session during SEMICON China titled AI-enabled Smart Application Opportunities and IC Design Solutions March 21. Ajit Manocha, SEMI president and CEO, and Lung Chu, president of SEMI China, will offer opening remarks. The Executive Session will feature a panel moderated by Xiaoning Qi, vice president of Alibaba Group, and will include panelists from Cadence Design Systems, Dell EMC, Mentor, Synopsys and UNISOC. During Design Automation & Test in Europe (DATE), Paul Cohen will present, “The ESD Alliance –– at the Center of the Semiconductor Universe,” March 26. He will be available at the ESD Alliance exhibit to discuss our expanding role as the central voice of the system and semiconductor design ecosystem. All of us will have detailed information about ES Design West. If you happen to be at either industry event, please say hello and ask us about this new initiative of ours, something we’re quite proud of.
