I’m out of town this week with the DAC Executive Committee –– EDAC is one of DAC’s three sponsors ––as we put the finishing touches on this
In the meantime, I want to remind you that EDAC has a terrific program lined up to be held next week during DVCon. We’re fortunate to have Jim Hogan in conversation with Dr. Ajoy Bose, former chairman, president and CEO of Atrenta (now Synopsys) as part of Jim’s ongoing series, “Crossing the Chasm: From Technology to Valuable Enterprise.” Ajoy is no stranger to DVCon and the need for powerful verification tools, having led the team that pioneered the Verilog simulation products at Cadence. He and Jim will look at how Atrenta, the startup he founded after he left Cadence, became the valued commercial enterprise acquired by Synopsys. Our event Tuesday, March 1, will start at 6 p.m., as the DVCon exhibits close for the day. A networking session with light refreshments will be held from 6-7 p.m. The discussion will begin at 7 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. Questions from the audience for Jim and Ajoy will be encouraged. We invite the electronic design community, EDAC members and DVCon attendees to attend. The evening is open free of charge to all EDAC member companies and registered DVCon attendees. Anyone else can attend for a fee of $40. Registration information can be found at: http://conta.cc/1PJeGjE And, don’t forget that a DVCon Exhibits Only Pass is free. To register for DVCon Exhibits, go to: http://bit.ly/24moV1P You’ll need to be held in suspense a little longer before the DAC program is unveiled, but don’t let that stop you from joining us March 1 for an evening that should be long on insight and advice. Think of it as an early prelude to DAC. If you have attended past evenings with Jim, you know that they can be freewheeling and fun –– something you won’t want to miss. (To download recordings of some of our past events with Jim Hogan and guest, visit http://bit.ly/1mT2n6T) Interested in joining EDAC? If so, fantastic! All companies and individuals that are involved in the electronic design ecosystem are encouraged to become members of EDAC, “Where Electronics Begins.” For more information about EDAC and how to become a member, contact me at bob.smith@edac.org or visit www.edac.org EDAC events often are the work of Steve Pollock, the chair of the Emerging Companies Committee and vice president of marketing and sales at Semi-Pac Inc. He’s ably assisted by Paul Cohen, EDAC’s member of the Technical Staff, and Julie Rogers, director of Marketing and Operations. MP Associates, organizers of DVCon, have helped with this event as well. |
