In a monumental announcement at SC24, NVIDIA has unveiled its Omniverse Blueprint, a real-time physics digital twin framework designed to redefine engineering workflows in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, and energy industries. This cutting-edge technology enables developers to create interactive, high-fidelity digital twins, promising unprecedented speed, accuracy, and efficiency in product design and simulation. Revolutionizing Computational Fluid DynamicsOne of the most transformative applications of the Omniverse Blueprint lies in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), an essential tool for designing high-performance vehicles, aircraft, and industrial machinery. At SC24, NVIDIA and Luminary Cloud demonstrated a virtual wind tunnel, an industry-first that enables real-time aerodynamic simulations. Engineers can now modify vehicle designs and immediately visualize their impact on airflow, a groundbreaking capability. “Traditional CFD workflows take weeks or even months to deliver results,” explained Tim Costa, NVIDIA’s senior director of CAE and HPC. “With the Omniverse Blueprint, engineers can achieve real-time interactivity, accelerating the pace of innovation.” Luminary Cloud’s integration of NVIDIA Modulus, a physics-AI framework, enables the creation of surrogate CFD models that simulate fluid dynamics at speeds previously unattainable. The result is a seamless workflow where AI and simulation work hand-in-hand to transform how engineers optimize designs. “Luminary’s ability to generate vast amounts of high-fidelity simulation data in minutes is the key enabler for physics AI models ready to revolutionize simulation-based design,” said Juan J. NVIDIA and Ansys have integrated the NVIDIA Modulus AI framework into Ansys’ suite of semiconductor simulation tools, accelerating tasks such as thermal analysis and power optimization. Using AI to analyze existing designs and predict optimal configurations, engineers can now explore broader design spaces and refine solutions at speeds up to 100x faster. “By embedding NVIDIA Modulus into our semiconductor solutions, we’re delivering unprecedented speed and efficiency for our customers,” said Ajei Gopal, CEO of Ansys. “This collaboration is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in chip design.” Ansys’ use of NVIDIA’s GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips has already set new benchmarks. At the Texas Advanced Computing Center, Ansys Fluent completed a 2.5-billion-cell simulation in just six hours—an achievement that would have taken nearly a month on traditional CPU clusters.
