Tanner EDA Celebrates 20 Years in the Electronic Design Automation Market; Supports PC-based Platforms for Analog and Mixed-Signal and MEMS Design

Monrovia, California, February 5, 2009-- Tanner EDA®, the world leader in PC-based analog and mixed-signal (AMS) and MEMS circuit design tools, announced today that the company is celebrating 20 years of success in the EDA market. Since its inception, Tanner EDA has had an average annual growth rate of 20%, and has been profitable for 8 of the last 9 years. To date, Tanner EDA has shipped 25,000 licenses of its PC-based electronic design software to 4,000 customers in 67 countries.

“We made a bet on the PC early on in 1988, when it was not perceived as an EDA platform, and for us it was the correct decision, since it has continued to replace UNIX workstations,” remarked John Tanner, CEO, Tanner EDA. “The PC platform is a commodity EDA platform notably because of its performance, cost and ease-of-use.”

 About the Tanner EDA Tools

Tanner Tools Pro is a software suite for the design, layout and verification of analog, mixed signal, and RF and MEMS integrated circuits. It includes S-Edit for schematic capture, T-Spice for analog simulation, L-Edit for physical layout and L-Edit DRC/Extract/LVS for physical verification.

HiPer Silicon builds on the capabilities of Tanner Tools Pro with advanced features that improve designer productivity. The capabilities include the HiPer Verify foundry-compatible physical verification engine, Verilog-A simulation and layout automation.
