Media Advisory: Cadence Seeks Silicon Valley Beneficiary for 2009 Stars & Strikes Fundraiser

WHO:    Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: 
CDNS) is the world's leading
        electronic design automation company.

WHAT:   Cadence is seeking funding proposals from Silicon Valley nonprofit
        organizations to be the beneficiary of its 2009 Stars & Strikes®
        fundraising event.

        Underwritten by Cadence, the Stars & Strikes fundraiser and bowling
        competition is its flagship corporate philanthropy event, bringing
        together local companies to raise funds for selected Silicon Valley
        charities.

        Projects that will be considered are primarily those that improve
        or increase the nonprofit organization's ability to provide
        services and are expected to have a lasting impact on those served,
        as well as benefiting the overall community.

        Since the amount raised will exceed $1,000,000, Cadence looks for
        lead or capstone contribution opportunities. Leveraged or matched
        funding resulting from the Stars & Strikes contribution is highly
        desirable.

About the Stars & Strikes Fundraising Event

The 2008 Stars & Strikes fundraiser resulted in over $1 million for the May Institute, enabling them to open a pediatric specialty center for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Since the fundraising event began in 1990, Cadence Stars & Strikes has raised more than $11 million for local community organizations. Past beneficiaries include Women's Initiative for Self-Employment, Fisher House at Palo Alto VA Hospital, San Jose Conservation Corps, InnVision the Way Home, Resource Area for Teachers, The Bill Wilson Center and Children's Discovery Museum.
