Cadence Litho Electrical Analyzer Wins Prestigious DesignVision Award

SANTA CLARA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Feb 05, 2008 -- Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS), the leader in global electronic-design innovation, has been distinguished by the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) with a 2008 DesignVision Award for Product of the Year. The "Best ASIC and IC Design Tool Award" was presented to Cadence for its innovative Cadence Litho Electrical Analyzer, which assists IC designers at the technological leading edge to ensure the best possible production yields.

Cadence was honored with the award at a special ceremony today during the DesignCon 2008 Conference and Exhibition here.

"It's great to be recognized for innovation in IC design technology," said Jim Miller, executive vice president of products and technologies at Cadence. "As the IC industry moves to more advanced nodes, the role of EDA in addressing variation from manufacturing becomes increasingly critical. With solutions such as this, in an integrated design environment, we enable the semiconductor industry to create the next generation of consumer and computing products. This development represents a major contribution to the IC industry as a whole."

Cadence was chosen for this award by a panel of judges from the 2008 DesignCon Technical Program Committee. The committee selected from a field of 2008 DesignVision Award finalists in each of eight categories.

The Cadence Litho Electrical Analyzer is the industry's first complete and silicon-correlated electrical DFM analysis product that optimizes and controls the impact of lithography, mask, etch, RET, OPC, and CMP effects on electrical parameters such as timing and power at the chip level. Its silicon-contour-based analysis technology provides an accurate, model-based solution to help designers minimize the impact of manufacturing variations on design performance. In 2007, it was honored by EE Times with an ACE Award for excellence in design.
