Art Blogger Leah Selakovic to Attend Watches & Wonders Expo in Hong Kong

SINGAPORE -- (Marketwired) -- Sep 17, 2014 -- Fashion blogger Leah Selakovic is eagerly awaiting the second Watches & Wonders show on September 30. On her blog the fashionista, art expert, and author from Singapore who is known for her style and sense of fashion, is introducing the highly anticipated event, which opens at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. With more than 16,000 visitors at last year's event, the show was a huge hit, reports Leah, and she is confident that the upcoming show will be just as successful. Leah's insider tip amongst the thirteen top watchmaking brands that will present their latest innovations at Watches & Wonders is Audemars Piguet, a world-renowned watchmaker from Switzerland. Leah honored the watchmaker with her attendance at the Royal Oak Exhibition, which the label had organized on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the world-famous steel high-end sports watch.

The exhibition entitled "From Avant-Garde to Icon" circled around the history of masterpieces created by Audemars Piguet, which started with the first Royal Oak watch designed by Gérald Genta and Georges Golay in 1972. Audemars Piguet celebrated the 40th birthday of the iconic timekeeper by showcasing the Royal Oak Exhibition in metropolitans around the world before coming to Singapore for the grand finale. On her blog, Leah Selakovic describes the spectacular event, which took place at the former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station and was attended by many art and fashion enthusiasts. Leah remembers the glamorous night very well: "It was amazing to see those exceptional and iconic timepieces up close," Leah raves. "Overall, there were a hundred Royal Oaks, some of which dated back to the early 1970s. With their octagonal shape and the carefully engineered details those watches are real masterpieces."

At this year's Watches & Wonders show, Audemars Piguet will introduce its newest innovation, the Royal Oak Offshore, a self-winding tourbillon chronograph. Sturdy, but beautiful, the chronograph is made of high-tech materials kept in monochrome colors which make the watch much recognizable and decorated with a total of 34 jewels. "Watches & Wonders will be a great opportunity to catch a glimpse of one of these extraordinary watches," says Leah. "And for many watch fans it might be the only chance: Audemars Piguet announced that the production of the Royal Oak Offshore is limited to only 50 watches."

Admitting to have a wardrobe full of collectibles from labels such as Chanel, Lanvin or Celine, Leah Selakovic is more than just a fashion icon. Graduating with a Master's degree in Art and Classical History in her home country, the former republic of Yugoslavia, she went on to work in the publishing arena, the IT industry, and even attained the titles of NLP Master and Reiki Master before settling down in Singapore with her husband David, a hugely successful entrepreneur and innovator. Currently, Leah enjoys her role as a mother and is exploring her talents as a children's books author. So far, she has written 20 books, six of which are in preparations to be published. Even though her role as a mother, wife, and an author easily fills her days, Leah maintains her philanthropic work, which includes the support of several archaeological societies as well as charities that focus on helping young, talented, and gifted artists.
