New Initiatives to Complement the Exhibition and Pavilion Panels at the 51st DAC

Automotive Village to be the center for tool providers, automotive designers and automobile manufacturers to network and learn

LOUISVILLE, Colo. – May 20, 2014 –– Complementing the all-embracing technical program at the 51st Design Automation Conference ( DAC), the premier conference devoted to design and design automation of electronic systems, is the exhibition floor, which will feature over 190 exhibitors, 17 first-time exhibitors, 16 exciting Pavilion Panels, the ARM® Connected Community® Pavilion and the new Automotive Village.

DAC 2014 will be held at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, Calif. from June 1st to 5th, 2014. The exhibit floor is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am – 6pm.  Kicking off the exhibition in the DAC Pavilion on Monday, June 2nd, will be Gary Smith with his annual “Trends and What’s Hot at DAC” from 9:15-10:15am.

“DAC is all about the dynamic interaction between designers, developers, management and ecosystem vendors,” said Brett Cline of Cadence Design Systems and Industry Advisory Chair, 51st DAC. “We are extremely excited about this year’s exhibition, which brings together the conference program’s new initiatives with DAC’s traditional exhibit highlights.”

Vendor Highlights

This year’s exhibit floor offers exciting technologies and vendors to attendees. First-time exhibitors include:

Many of these first-time exhibitors are IP providers and suppliers that blend with the new IP Track on Monday, bringing together a strong IP initiative for the first time at DAC.

A feature at the exhibition is the ARM® Connected Community® Pavilion, where attendees can visit ARM technology-based demos from ARM partners. Currently 17 partners are exhibiting in the ARM Connected Community Pavilion.

New to the conference is the Automotive Village sponsored by Wrightspeed.  Wrightspeed will be showcasing  their plug and play repower kit for medium duty commercial trucks.  The Automotive Village is the center for tool providers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and leading automobile manufacturers to meet, talk, listen and learn from each other. Exhibitors include: ANSYS, Dassault Systems, MathWorks, Mentor Graphics, SimuQuest and Synopsys. “Conversation and Cocktails” will provide a networking event in the Automotive Village on Monday, June 2, from 5:00 - 6:00pm.

DAC Pavilion
The DAC Pavilion is one of the traditional highlights on the exhibition floor, offering all attendees the opportunity to learn about key areas of design through an eclectic mix of panels, presentations and interviews. The Pavilion will host a lineup of 16 exciting, educational and entertaining panels including a fireside chat with Wally Rhines, CEO, Mentor Graphics and James Buczkowski, Henry Ford Technical Fellow, Ford Motor Company and a device “tear-down” that was pre-selected by DAC attendees. About DAC
The Design Automation Conference (DAC) is recognized as the premier event for the design of electronic circuits and systems, and for electronic design automation (EDA) and silicon solutions. A diverse worldwide community representing more than 1,000 organizations attends each year, represented by system designers and architects, logic and circuit designers, validation engineers, CAD managers, senior managers and executives to researchers and academicians from leading universities. Close to 60 technical sessions selected by a committee of electronic design experts offer information on recent developments and trends, management practices and new products, methodologies and technologies. A highlight of DAC is its exhibition and suite area with approximately 190 of the leading and emerging EDA, silicon, intellectual property (IP) and design services providers. The conference is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDA Consortium), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and is supported by ACM's Special Interest Group on Design
