New Release of Fatigue Analysis Software, fe-safe

July 9 2013, Sheffield, UK: Safe Technology Ltd today announces the latest release of its advanced suite of fatigue analysis software for FE models, fe-safe. fe-safe 6.4 includes a new and unique approach to the fatigue of woven fibre composite materials and usability enhancements such as support for Abaqus ODB Parts and Instances The new release also demonstrates continued increases in speed of analyses with the introduction of native 64-bit Windows code.

Key new Features:

64 bit Windows

fe-safe 6.4 is the first 64-bit release for Microsoft Windows platforms. The 64-bit application removes all process memory limits and enables fe-safe to offer consistently faster analysis speeds across all types of analyses.

Support for Abaqus Parts & Instances

Support for ODB Parts & Instances enables Abaqus users to analyse models with multiple Parts & Instances without the need to flatten and rerun the model. It also enables the retention of assembly details for post-processing.  This offers huge solution time benefits and streamlines the FEA Fatigue analysis process.

Support for woven fibre material in fe-safe/Composites™

This unique capability extends the capabilities of fe-safe/Composites - for the fatigue of composite materials - from unidirectional laminae, to include plain woven architectures. It was developed and tested in collaboration with DSO National Laboratories, Singapore; Royal National Lifeboat Institute, UK;  and Daimler AG, Germany, in a consortium led by Safe Technology and Firehole Composites (recently acquired by Autodesk, Inc).
