Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, UK, 2 July, 2013 - Pitney Bowes - a global leader in customer data, analytics, communication software and services - has announced the launch of  MapInfo Professional v12.0, designed to enable organisations to gain new insights into their markets, improve strategic decision making and share information-rich maps and graphs. Reflecting Pitney Bowes’ commitment to the LI and GIS markets, a new  Mapinfo.com web site has also been launched to enable GIS professionals to access a multitude of resources and materials covering the entire Location Intelligence portfolio of offerings – MapInfo Professional, MapInfo applications, Stratus web mapping,  enterprise server - Spectrum Spatial, Geocoding and Geospatial Data.

MapInfo Professional v12.0 is designed to help organisations understand their business, analyse trends geographically and make critical decisions with greater clarity of potential risk and opportunity.  This version makes it even easier to create great looking maps with several enhanced cartographic output features and data management improvements.

Trevor Foster, GIS Manager, South West Commissioning Support commented, “As a cartographer by trade, final map output and design are as important as the GIS analysis and styling to me. The cartographic improvements in v12.0, such as improved label placement, scalebar production, legend and layout design are all very welcome and will improve our maps even further than those we already produce”

“The enhancements in this release have been specifically developed from all of our customers’ feedback with significant improvements around cartographic output. The primary goal of this release is to help our users easily and quickly create high-quality labelled mapping outputs. GIS professionals and location intelligence analysts will find that they can work smarter, not harder,” said James Brayshaw, Director and General Manager, LI and GIS, EMEA, Pitney Bowes Software.

“In addition, the new MapInfo website has been built for our users and partners alike to find information easily on the MapInfo Suite of products and is a reflection of our commitment to build the MapInfo community and the MapInfo brand,” he added.

MapInfo Professional v12.0 provides the following key benefits:

Premium Services and out-of-the-box connectivity to MapInfo Manager’s data management capabilities enable users to opt for additional functionality for effective spatial data creation, editing and analysis.
