Real Intent and DeFacTo Deliver Combined RTL Sign-off Flow for Clock Domain Crossing and Design for Test

Integration of DeFacTo’s SIGNOFF and Real Intent’s Meridian CDC Accelerates Sign-off

SUNNYVALE, Calif. and MOIRANS, France – May 14, 2013Real Intent Inc., the leading provider of software products that accelerate early functional verification and advanced sign-off of electronic designs, and DeFacTo Technologies SA, whose breakthrough technology dramatically enhances the design for test (DFT) process and increases the testability of ICs and SoCs, today announced a combined RTL sign-off flow for both CDC and DFT that accelerates the sign-off process. The new flow resulting from their collaboration integrates DeFacTo's SIGNOFF solution with Real Intent's clock domain crossing solution, Meridian CDC, offering a best-in-class solution for SoC design teams worldwide. The companies will demonstrate the joint flow in DeFacTo’s booth ( #409 ) and Real Intent’s booth ( #1031 ) at the Design Automation Conference, in Austin, Texas, next month.

SIGNOFF is an RTL DFT evaluation and enhancement platform. It helps reach high DFT quality levels in a more predictable timeframe and allows earlier DFT analysis and enhancement at the block, the IP core and the top levels; and it makes possible RTL DFT exploration including test compression, memory/logic BIST and JTAG.  Real Intent’s Meridian CDC is the fastest, highest-capacity and most precise CDC solution in the market. It performs comprehensive structural and functional analysis to ensure that signals crossing asynchronous clock domains on ASIC or FPGA devices are received reliably. With a capacity exceeding 500M gates, Meridian CDC is the only solution to enable all aspects of CDC sign-off.

Dr. Chouki Aktouf, Ph.D., founder, president and CEO of DeFacTo, said, “Our collaboration with Real Intent is a natural outcome of our complementary product offerings that help eliminate complex failure modes of SoCs at the RTL stage of design. We are pleased to extend our reach through this partnership because Real Intent is a company known for serving design teams worldwide with best-in-class verification solutions.”

Hamed Emami, vice president of worldwide sales at Real Intent, added, “DeFacTo offers unique technology for testability sign-off at the pre-synthesis stage of design. By partnering with DeFacTo, we bring design teams the best platforms in the market for RTL sign-off for both DFT and CDC issues.”

About DeFacTo

DeFacTo Technologies SA, a chip design software company, develops technology to enhance design and DFT processes at RTL. The company offers a suite of tools for the planning, analysis, insertion, and debug needs of designers. Its products include SIGNOFF, an EDA tool that allows scan logic insertion at the RTL; and STAR, a customizable RTL-to-RTL editing tool for IP cores and SoC blocks.
