Waltham, MA May 1, 2012 – ETRAGE LLC, The Engineering Software Company, today announced that Chromalloy has successfully applied its Bulk Loader software tool and migration methodology in migrating their Creo® model files and various documents to Windchill 10.
The Etrage Bulk Loader is a fast and reliable way of migrating, uploading and checking-in a large quantity of CAD data, CAD metadata and documents from a Windows file system into Windchill. It validates against existing CAD files in Windchill and identifies conflicts. It offers easy to use interface so that the process of uploading is done in quick and effective way.
However, data migration is a process that not only involves use of software tools but also a migration methodology. Each migration process is unique just as customer data is unique. Etrage developed migration process tools and methodology that enables customers to prepare their large sets of data for the successful upload into Windchill.
The Bulk Loader with the Etrage migration methodology provides for an effective process for capturing the entire history in Creo and recreating it in Windchill® PDMLink® or INTRALINK®.
“Our migration methodology and Bulk Loader tool not only enables the migration of CAD models and documents, but it includes capturing of metadata and history”, states Bojan Rapaic, Director of Development at Etrage. He continues with, “We control the process by validating what has been migrated against the files already in Windchill, enable editing of attributes and manage all model dependencies.”
A well respected consultant advised Masud Zaman, Chromalloy Manager of Technical Data Systems, on the benefits of the Bulk Loader software. As a result, Chromalloy saved several man months of effort to transfer data from one system to another.
The Etrage Bulk Loader is used for migrating Creo and Pro/ENGINEER® Wildfire® drawings, assemblies and parts, AutoCAD® drawings and Office Documents into Windchill PDMLink and INTRALINK 9, 9.1 & 10. Other CAD formats can be added upon request.
