OCTEON-II SW compatibility. Paxym Consulting Services Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

The OCTEON-II series is now at CN68XX, which is upto 32 cores. The Operating System options now include, Linux-CentOS, Real-Time Linux, FreeBSD, QNX Neutrino, Zero Overhead Linux etc.
We completed one design on CN6335, and even with 6 cores, it was delivering better throughput than the previous CN56xx family with 12 cores. The beautiful part is that there is very little change required in simple-exec applicaiton source from OCTEON to OCTEON-II. Our previous work on IPS (SNORT), IPSec (VPN), Protocols, AntiVirus, WAN optimization, URL Filters, Regular Expressions is all quickly portable to OCTEON-II.
