Electrical Substation Design Engineer
Perform controls/protection engineering studies, analysis and interpretation of complex data for Engineering/Design Section of the Asset Management's Asset Reliability Group in Utility Operations.
Prepare Controls Design response in emergency situations to restore system operations and/or service to customers.
Provide study, conceptual, and budgetary estimates for controls portions of the projects. Maintain and apply working knowledge of Design Standards, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, and industry standards.
Design, prepare, evaluate and review drawings and documents used for construction and bid purposes.
Coordinate complex projects and provide liaison functions with System Protection, Experts, vendors, Division Managers and personnel, consultants and contractors.
Review controls design of the projects done by A&E companies and by the Controls Designers.
Prepare new and modify the existing Design Standards.
Distribute any modifications in the Standards to the A&E companies.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Demonstrate experience/knowledge in Sub & Switching Station protection & controls concepts, computer literacy including extensive CADD (MicroStation) experience.
Desirable: Advanced degree or Professional Electrical Engineering license. Safety sensitive position.
