Posted anew every four weeks or so, the EDA WEEKLY delivers to its readers information concerning the latest happenings in the EDA industry, covering vendors, products, finances and new developments. Frequently, feature articles on selected public or private EDA companies are presented. Brought to you by EDACafe.com. If we miss a story or subject that you feel deserves to be included, or you just want to suggest a future topic, please contact us! Questions? Feedback? Click here. Thank you!

The top articles over the last two weeks as determined by the number of readers were:

Owen has spent the past 15 years focusing on financial management for
pre-IPO and early-stage companies, most recently serving as CFO of
DigitalPersona. Before joining DigitalPersona, Ms. Owen was the CFO of
inOvate Communications Group, funding early-stage investments in a
wireless infrastructure. Prior to inOvate, she served as CFO for
Beatnik, Inc. and represented the company to the banking and legal
community during its IPO preparations. Earlier, she played an integral
role in the merger, and subsequent public offering of I/Pro with
Engage, Inc., a majority-owned operating company of CMGI, Inc. As VP of
Corporate Development at Compression Labs, Ms. Owen was actively
involved in the merger of that company with VTel. Previously, Ms. Owen
held financial operations positions with Amgen and Hewlett-Packard. She
holds an MBA from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada
and a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario in London,

Nanoradio AB, a semiconductor supplier targeting the cellular handset
and multimedia consumer electronics market, and Jazz Semiconductor, a
RF and Analog foundry wholly owned by Jazz Technologies announced that
Nanoradio has selected Jazz Semiconductor's 0.35-micron SiGe BiCMOS
process (SBC35) to manufacture its NRX511 radio IC, a fully integrated
RF transceiver optimized on the 2,4 - 2,5GHz ISM band. Nanoradio's chip
is targeted for use in portable devices such as mobile phones and
multimedia players where power consumption is critical for optimal user
experience. The design uses differential RF-input and output to
optimize the RF performance. Channel filtering is provided on-chip and
no extra SAW filters are required. The NRX511 provides an on-chip high
efficient RF power amplifier to minimize bill of materials and solution

Cadence announced that it has acquired Invarium, Inc., a San Jose-based
developer of advanced lithography-modeling and pattern-synthesis
technology. Invarium's pattern synthesis capabilities enable superior
pattern resolution and faster yield ramp for designs targeted to
45-nanometer-and-below process technologies. This acquisition creates
the path to a DFM solution for functional and parametric yield
improvement, enabling the prevention, detection, correction and
optimization of manufacturing effects on advanced geometry designs. The
acquisition was completed on July 10. Terms of the agreement were not

Corporation announced IC package thermal analysis for TSMC's Reference
Flow 8.0. TSMC's latest reference flow addresses 45-nanometer designs
and features statistical timing analysis for intra-die variation,
automated DFM hot-spot fixing and new dynamic low-power design
methodologies. Reference Flow 8.0 is the latest generation of TSMC's
design methodology that increases yields, lowers risks and improves
design margins. Optimal, founded in 1995, is a TSMC Technology Alliance
Partner and a member of the Cadence Connections Emerging Solutions
