There are two main issues in power tools. One addresses power delivery performance, that's where we come in, the other is low power which is another ballgame all together. We don't play in the low power arena. Golden Gate, whom you wrote about last week, is a player there. They mentioned Sequence who is in power analysis.

The performance of power delivery system is making sure that you have clean power from the sources to the devices, making sure that you've minimized noise and that there is no noise corrupting the power delivery system.

Incentia's TimeCraft Adopted by NEC Electronics as Signoff Static Timing Analyzer for 90-Nanometer Designs Incentia has cooperated with NEC Electronics to develop location-based on-chip-variation features to resolve accuracy problems caused by statistical process variations in 90-nanometer designs. In addition, Incentia added a multi-task capability to TimeCraft to significantly speed up multi-corner and multi-mode analysis. These advanced features are now available to all of Incentia's TimeCraft customers.


Dubai Silicon Oasis and Synopsys Provide Technology Tools to UAE Educational Institutions As a result, Synopsys' advanced design and verification software tools are now available to the four major academic institutions in the United Arab Emirates at no charge.


TOSHIBA ADOPTS NOVAS VERDI DEBUG SYSTEM The Verdi system will be used across internal design teams and in TAEC SoC Design Centers to accelerate functional verification and realize time-to-market goals for custom SoC and ASIC designs. Verdi is a complete mixed-language debug system provides a universal debug platform and common interface for accessing all the design knowledge and analysis engines needed throughout the verification tool and methodology flow. Engineers can analyze cause-and-effect relationships and visualize design behavior over time to better understand and accelerate debug of
third-party intellectual property, legacy design code and new or unfamiliar components.


Agilent Technologies Completes Acquisition of Eagleware-Elanix, a Leading Provider of High-Frequency EDA Software Financial details were not disclosed. Eagleware-Elanix employees have joined Agilent's EEsof division, which is a leader in the high-frequency ED) market, especially in high-end tools. Eagleware-Elanix is noted for products that are easy to use and for its technological leadership in tools for high-frequency design synthesis. The companies' product lines are complementary.


Synopsys Applauds Court Ruling in Patent Suit; Magma Says Reaction Premature (Electronic News Magazine) In its ruling, the court The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California issued its claim construction ruling and adopted Synopsys' positions outright on three of the four claim construction questions at issue. The litigation is set to go to trial in April 2006.
