Runcom Launches the First Commercial Mobile WiMAX Wave-2 Baseband Integrated Circuit With MIMO Capability

Complete WiMAX Solution Using Latest Runcom Baseband IC and NXP Semiconductors MIMO Transceiver Demonstrated at 3GSM Show in Barcelona

NIJMEGEN, The Netherlands and RISHON LEZION, Israel, February 12 /PRNewswire/ -- NXP Semiconductors., a leading global supplier of Semiconductor devices and RFIC's, and Runcom Technologies, the pioneer in OFDMA(R) enabling technologies for Mobile WiMax, disclosed today the availability of a set of integrated circuits that includes all features necessary to meet the latest Wave-2 Profile of broadband Mobile WiMAX technology.

Wave-2 end-user equipment has been built using the recently released WiMAX MIMO transceiver UXA23465 from NXP and the latest baseband ASIC version of Runcom , the RNA250. The combined chipset provide a complete Wave-2 Mobile WiMAX PHY , MAC and RF Front-end solution for a variety of fixed, nomadic, portable and mobile terminals such as PC Cards, CPE's, PDA's, Handsets and Laptops.
