Sirenza Microdevices Announces Release of High Performance Digital TV and Set-Top Box Amplifier IC

BROOMFIELD, Colo., April 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sirenza Microdevices (NASDAQ: SMDI), a leading designer and supplier of high-performance radio frequency (RF) components for communications equipment manufacturers, today announced the release of the S510067, an RF silicon CMOS 3.3V RF integrated circuit (RFIC) for intermediate frequency (IF) digital TV applications. Developed to help improve the performance and reduce the number of components in HDTVs and digital set-top boxes, the new S510067 offers a solution which combines multiple functions into one RFIC. This IC is designed for use in VSB/NTSC receivers, PC TV tuners, VSB/QAM/NTSC tuner network interface modules (NIM), and integrated HDTVs and set-top boxes. The S510067 includes two highly linear input automated gain control (AGC) amplifiers and IF video amplifiers in one package while reducing costly components, circuit complexity and printed circuit board space. In addition, the S510067 operates from 20 to 100 MHz, has a gain range of 14 to 68dB and has more than 54dB of total gain control range.
