DVCon 2009 Announces Best Paper Award and Over 650 Attendees

Boulder, CO - March 19, 2009 - The 2009 Design and Verification Conference (DVCon), sponsored by Accellera, announced this years' Best Paper Award as well as more than 650 attendees throughout the three day conference.

The Best Paper Award went to Freddy Bembaron of Texas Instruments, Inc. and Rudra Mukherjee, Amit Srivastava and Sachin Kakkar of Mentor Graphics Corp. for the paper titled, "Low Power Verification Methodology using UPF." To view the paper, please visit the DVCon home page at www.dvcon.org.

"Our Unified Power Format standard for the design and verification of low power integrated circuits continues to gain momentum and visibility in the electronic design user community," said Shrenik Mehta, Accellera Chair.  "We are very pleased to see papers that support Accellera's standards and improve the growing UPF user community's  knowledge be recognized and awarded by our DVCon community."

"I was extremely pleased with the conference this year," stated Tom Fitzpatrick, DVCon General Chair.  "Even in a tough economy, we were able to provide the substantial number of attendees with an expanded technical program and expanded exhibit hours. The size and depth of the program and the audience is a testament to the importance that leading-edge design and verification professionals place on DVCon. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and I'm grateful to our Steering Committee and Technical Program Committee, as well as MP Associates, for staging such an outstanding conference once again. I look forward to an even stronger conference, by every measure, next year."

Conference dates for 2010 have been set for February 23-25 at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, California.  The call for papers for 2010 will go out in April and the deadline will be September 14, 2009.

The website has also been updated to reflect the new dates and deadlines.  The site will continue to post links to relevant industry discussions and comments under the "News and Opinions" column on the right side of the DVCon homepage.  Please visit www.dvcon.org for more information about DVCon 2010.
