Advocates open analog standards with DAC Laker OA Demo
"It appears that the industry is finally lining up behind the Open Access database - at least for Analog design - and we fully support this effort," said Dr. Hau-Yung Chen, President of Silicon Canvas. "There are still some hurdles to be overcome before Open Access can become truly open which is why Silicon Canvas has been an active supporter of the emerging open analog standards, such as the recently announced Interoperable Pcell Library (IPL) initiative. All we have ever asked" he continued, "was to compete on our technology. Proprietary databases and languages only succeed in defending a vendor's customer base at the expense of the customer."
Registration for Silicon Canvas' OA demo is available on-line at www.sicanvas.com or in booth #2379 at the show. Silicon Canvas, a founding member of the IPL initiative, will be also co-sponsoring an IPL luncheon workshop on Wednesday, June 6th. Registration for the luncheon may be reached via the Silicon Canvas web site or at http://www.iplnow.com. Besides the workshop, Silicon Canvas will be supporting the work of the IPL initiative at the IPL booth (#2957) and will present at the IPL showcase at the Synopsys Interoperability Breakfast on Wednesday morning.
Silicon Canvas' 2007 DAC theme is "The Art of IC Design," look for the Laker artist in booth #2379 and on Silicon Canvas T-shirts throughout the show.
The Laker design platform addresses the needs of today's and tomorrow's analog, mixed signal and large, complex IC, ASIC, and SoC designs. Laker has long been a recognized reference standard for full custom layout solutions, with more than 250 companies worldwide adopting it for designs down to 45nm. Built-in Controllable Automation technology on top of unparalleled interoperability delivers a streamlined design work flow, from schematic to layout realization and beyond. Its patented Magic Cell, Rule-Driven, DDL (Design-Driven Layout), and Controllable Automation technologies deliver substantial productivity gains over existing methodologies.
