Achronix and Mentor Graphics Announce Joint Agreement

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Achronix Semiconductor Corporation, the multi-GHz programmable logic company, today announced a long term technology partnership and OEM agreement with Mentor Graphics Corporation. The agreement ensures close collaboration between the two companies to provide a comprehensive FPGA design environment, enabling developers to take full advantage of Achronix high performance FPGAs.

Under this agreement, Mentor Graphics will add optimized support for Achronix multi-GHz FPGA devices to Precision(R) Synthesis. Also under the terms of this agreement, Achronix will integrate and offer a complete design suite that includes Precision Synthesis. The initial version of the design suite will be available to end-users in 2007.

"Our strategy is to provide multi-GHz FPGA performance within an established and familiar RTL synthesis design flow" said Yousef Khalilollahi, Vice President of Marketing at Achronix Semiconductor Corporation. "Precision Synthesis from Mentor Graphics allows our customers to take full advantage of our disruptive FPGA technology."

"Our partnership with Achronix will benefit FPGA designers," said Daniel Platzker, FPGA Synthesis, Product Line Director, Design Creation and Synthesis Division, Mentor Graphics. "The performance offered by Achronix technology combined with the advanced capabilities of Precision Synthesis offer a compelling solution to FPGA users."

About Mentor Graphics Precision Synthesis

Precision Synthesis forms the centerpiece of Mentor Graphics FPGA flow - the industry's most comprehensive vendor-independent solution for FPGA design. With advanced support for ASIC prototyping (support for DesignWare libraries, SDC constraints, gated-clock handling, etc.) plus advanced implementation and optimization techniques such as automatic mapping and inferencing of dedicated DSP and RAM blocks, Precision Synthesis is uniquely suited to handle today's high-end FPGAs. In addition, Precision Synthesis features an award-winning design analysis capability, allowing designers to cross-probe between multiple views as well as perform interactive static timing for rapid "what-if" analyses. Precision Synthesis reduces design iterations, and enables faster, more predictable completion of designs, while delivering high quality of results (QoR).
