Women's Initiative Named 2007 Beneficiary of Cadence Stars & Strikes Fundraiser

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Feb 14, 2007 -- Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS) announced today that the Women's Initiative for Self Employment has been selected as the 2007 recipient of the Cadence® Stars & Strikes® fundraiser. Stars & Strikes funds will be used to help build a business incubator in San Jose to launch high potential, low income women into businesses that improve their financial independence and the quality of life for them and their families. For the past nineteen years, Women's Initiative has helped women overcome economic and social barriers to achieve self-sufficiency. The organization currently serves over 2,000 clients in Northern California and is looking to meet the growing demand for their business training and support services in Silicon Valley. The program's statistics are impressive:
--  Created 1,555 new businesses in Bay Area. 70% of graduates are in
    business within a year of training.
