Gidel Hires Silicon Valley Veteran Ralph Zak To Head North American Expansion

Reconfigurable PROCessor company sees great opportunity for its hardware accelerated design verification system and OEM reconfigurable PROCessor boards

November 6, 2006. Santa Clara, CA. Gidel, a leader in reconfigurable PROCessor systems, today announced that Ralph Zak, a Silicon Valley veteran, has joined the company as Director, North American Sales. Gidel delivers its PROC Wizard software and PROC family of FPGA and DSP-based reconfigurable PROCessor boards for a broad range of electronic design applications. The PROC family of products are used to accelerate development of DSP and image processing algorithms, debug ASIC designs as reconfigurable emulators, both stand alone and in-circuit with full systems and software, and as OEM co-processors for compute intensive algorithms within a broad spectrum of products.

Zak recently led North and South American operations for Hitachi Software's Interactive Communications Group. Prior to Hitachi, Zak held VP of Marketing and Business Development roles with programmable logic semiconductor IP startup Adaptive Silicon, IC emulation/prototyping companies Quickturn and Aptix, and semiconductor MES supplier, Consilium. Zak also held Director level marketing and sales positions with Mentor Graphics, HHB/Dasix, Quadtree and GE Calma.

"Ralph brings a great background of programmable logic-based systems experience and relationships to Gidel to help us succeed in the North American market," commented Reuven Weintraub, president and founder of Gidel. "Our products have seen great success in the US and worldwide. With Zak's local presence and ability to build a strong sales and marketing organization, we are confident our customers will achieve great success with the PROC line of reconfigurable PROCessors."

PROC Product Family from Gidel
The PROC family of reconfigurable processors includes circuit boards with high performance, large capacity FPGA and DSP devices. PROCWizard Software enables system architects and engineers to map algorithms and electronic designs into the programmable hardware and provides tools to verify the algorithms and designs and embedded system software prior to chip fabrication. The products are also shipped as embedded, high performance co-processors in finished products.
