Novas Broadens Interoperability and Passes 50 Partner Milestone; Growth of Harmony Partner Program Brings Focus to ESL, Visibility Enhancement and Advanced Verification Solutions

SAN JOSE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 5, 2006— Novas Software, Inc., the leader in debug systems for complex chip designs, today announced expansion of the Novas Harmony Program, its third-party electronic design automation (EDA) partner program focused on lowering the barriers to tool interoperability. The Harmony Program has added 11 new participants over the last year bringing the total number of partners to more than 50.

Novas attributes expansion of its Harmony partner network to the introduction of new Novas technologies and products, the accelerating adoption of advanced debug methodologies, and the ever-present need for tool interoperability in pursuit of complex system-on-chip (SoC) verification. Among the new partners are: Bluespec; Credence Systems Corporation; Globetech Solutions; Liga Systems, Inc.; Nascentric, Inc.; ProDesign; S2C Inc.; SpiraTech Ltd.; and VeriEZ. Several of the new partners are providers of products/services in the growing areas of:

-- electronic system level (ESL) languages, tools and intellectual property (IP);

-- advanced analog and transistor-level simulation; and

-- hardware-assisted verification, FPGA prototyping, and system validation.

"Nothing is more critical to the growth of the EDA industry than having efficient ways to link all of the innovative technology together to create productive design methodologies," said Scott Sandler, president and CEO of Novas. "The success of the Novas Harmony Partner Program demonstrates the importance of interoperability with more than 50 companies cooperating toward the common goals of interoperability and customer satisfaction."

The newest members will be welcomed at an inaugural Novas Harmony Partner Program Conference this week. The half-day event on June 7th will provide current and prospective Harmony partners with an overview of Novas' expanded product portfolio, development roadmap, latest application programming interfaces (APIs), and joint marketing programs to help companies effectively leverage their interoperability efforts.

"Chip complexity, unfamiliar logic, and globalized design teams make it harder than ever for engineers to comprehend design behavior. We welcome the energy and insight our newest partners bring to addressing this challenge, and applaud the commitment of all our partners to delivering value to our mutual customers," added Sandler.

Novas Harmony Program

Novas established the Harmony program in 1999. It brings together industry leaders and technology innovators throughout the chip design and verification flow, collaborating through Novas' open system architecture to implement interoperability from systems through silicon. Working with Harmony partners also provides Novas with valuable insight for continually optimizing its de-facto industry standard debug systems in order to address the greater capacity and performance requirements of today's SoC designs.

The Harmony program provides third-party tool developers and service providers with software licenses, engineering support for integration efforts, and ongoing support for mutual customers. Novas' open APIs ensure that the widest range of chip design and verification solutions can take full advantage of the capabilities of its flagship Verdi(TM) Automated Debug System and new award-winning Siloti(TM) Visibility Enhancement products.
