Precience Announces New Seamless Integration for OrCAD and PADS Users; New PCBNavigator Provides PADS2005 Integration with OrCAD Capture 10.5 Users and Enhances Design Flow by Defining Routing Constraints and Manage ECOs Bi-Directionally

SILVER SPRING, Md.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—May 24, 2006— Precience, Inc., a leading developer of electronic design automation (EDA) design-for-supply-chain solutions, today announced a new integration that delivers seamless board design flow for Mentor Graphics PADS2005 PCB layout software and OrCAD Capture(CIS) 10.5. Working through the Mentor Graphics(R) OpenDoor(SM) program and Cadence(R) Connections Program(SM), Precience(TM) enhanced its PCBNavigator(R) integration solution to enable OrCAD Capture users to design for the PADS PowerPCB PCB layout tool, defining routing constraints and managing engineering change orders (ECOs) bi-directionally. The new solution speeds up the design flow significantly by delivering unsurpassed integration.

PCBNavigator 5.1 software is integrated at the database level with schematic and target PCB systems using enhanced EDIF200. The user can select design elements in the schematic editors and appropriate footprints and other data are highlighted automatically in the PCBNavigator spreadsheet (dynamic cross-probing link). The solution automatically checks the PCB ECO file and reports items that can be back annotated to the schematic design to keep design in synchronization.
