Nassda's HSIM Adopted By Kilopass Technology For Embedded Non-volatile Memory Development in Standard CMOS Logic Processes

Santa Clara, Calif. - May 11, 2004 - Nassda™ Corporation (Nasdaq: NSDA) today announced that Kilopass Technology, Inc. has adopted Nassda's HSIM hierarchical simulator and analysis tool for use in the development of Kilopass's embedded non-volatile memory intellectual property (IP) XPM, Super Permanent Memory, for standard CMOS logic processes. Kilopass Technology will use HSIM for full-chip verification of very high-density non-volatile memories whose sizes range up to hundreds of mega-bits. The memory IP is targeted for generic standard CMOS processes in advanced process nodes, such as 130 nm and 90nm.

According to Michael Fliesler, Vice-President of Engineering at Kilopass Technology, "Nassda provided the highest capacity and most accurate solution for our design simulation requirements. Previously we could not achieve full-chip simulation with our largest memories using other tools. Not only was the capacity much greater, we saw simulation speedups over 10X with Spice-level accuracy. Now we can verify our entire XPM designs to meet our strict timing, low-power and high-speed programming requirements. I believe that by adopting HSIM for our upcoming next-generation XPM memory designs, we will improve the quality of results and the likelihood of tapeout success."

"As memory continues to grow proportionally in SoCs, we see low-power, non-volatile technologies from innovative companies such as Kilopass Technology becoming more prevalent," said Sang Wang, CEO of Nassda. "We believe the hierarchical capacity and circuit accuracy in HSIM addresses these challenging circuit verification requirements. We're pleased to be working with Kilopass Technology in the development of its next-generation XPM designs."

About HSIM
HSIM provides detailed circuit-level simulation of timing and power behavior and signal integrity effects. Used by over 200 companies including the top 20 semiconductor companies, it enables first silicon success and dramatically improved product quality and production yield. As part of the HSIMplus verification platform, it solves the critical issue of analyzing circuit behavior while taking into account the electrical and parasitic effects of nanometer-scale silicon. HSIM is ideal for demanding analog, memory, mixed-signal and system-on-chip designs.

About Kilopass Technology Inc.
Kilopass Technology Inc. was founded with the mission to become the industry leader in embedded non-volatile memory technology (NVM). Kilopass Technology's Super Permanent Memory (XPM) technology can be manufactured using standard commercial CMOS process without any modification. It can be used in a wide range of storage capacity, ranging from a few bits to multiple megabits. In addition, XPM can be scaled to advanced process technologies, such as 130 and 90 nanometer. XPM is an excellent solution for electrically field-programmable code storage, embedded security keys, and IC configuration parameters. Kilopass Technology's XPM products are targeted to the advanced Customer Owned Tooling (COT) and Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) markets and are available for leading foundries and process geometries.
