James has benchmarked EDA performance on many platforms including NT and Linux in several published articles. He has been on the forefront of EDA tools on Linux for several years. James is a veteran of both ASIC design and EDA through his work with many projects, tools and customer designs at Data General, Gateway, Cadence, Seva Technologies, Intrinsix Corp. and The ASIC Group. He has managed design projects from simple memory controllers to huge multi processor system on a chip designs. His practical application of EDA tools and design techniques along with a healthy skepticism of EDA tools allows him a nonbiased, real world users perspective on EDA and Linux. James is also the author of Verilog Quickstart now in its 3rd edition.
