Cavium’s PureVu Video Processors With SLL Technology™ Enable Full Wireless and Wired 1080p60 HD Using 802.11n, G.hn, Powerline or MoCA

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 9, 2009 — Cavium Networks (NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for networking, communications, storage, wireless, video and security applications, today announced that it will be showing a comprehensive netHD reference design in booth number 1108 at telcoTV conference 2009, being held in Orlando Florida November 10 -12, 2009. The netHD™ reference design is targeted for consumer electronics devices, including high definition TVs, gaming consoles, media PCs, service provider home gateways, and wireless HDMI cable replacement solutions for in-home video distribution to single or multiple flat panel displays.

The netHD™ reference design is based on Cavium’s industry-leading PureVu super low latency SLL Technology™, and enables standards-based H.264 encoding and decoding up to 1080p60 full HD video quality with sub-frame latency, as well as transmitting the video stream using a variety of standards-based networking technologies, including 802.11n Wi-Fi, G.hn, HPNA or any standard Ethernet connection for in-room or multi-room HD video delivery throughout the entire home. This reference design also incorporates support for HDCP 2.0 (High Definition Content Protection) protocol allowing Hollywood protected content to be displayed on one or multiple screens within the home at the same time. Using patent pending super low latency SLL Technology™ and quality of service techniques the netHD reference design provides high quality, secure, and reliable real-time, full HD 1080p60 flawless video distribution across standard home networks enabling a new generation of flat panels and in-home video distribution networks.

On Thursday, November 19, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Cavium Networks’ Senior Marketing Director Sridhar Gollapudi, will participate as a panel speaker in the Connected Home Gateways session in the following track; Conquering the Home: Life Beyond the NID.
