EDA Tech Forum Announces Keynotes and New Embedded Systems Track for Upcoming Silicon Valley Event

WILSONVILLE, Ore. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — August 19, 2009 EDA Tech Forum®, a key technical and networking resource for the electronics engineering community, today announced keynote speakers and the addition of an embedded systems technology track to its event being held on September 3, 2009, at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Ian Wright, CEO of Wrightspeed, Inc., and the builder of the world’s fastest street-legal electric car, will present the morning keynote, “From Pistons and Gears to Electronics and Software: the Coming Transportation Revolution,” and discuss why the move to electric drives will not only be inevitable, but also fun, for engineers. The afternoon keynote will be presented by Andrew Rassweiler, Teardown Services Manager and Principal Analyst at iSuppli. Rassweiler takes an in-depth look at the iPhone, comparing the new Apple 3G to previous iPhone models as well as to its competitors, such as the Palm Pre, in “Generations of iPhone: A Teardown Perspective.”

Other tracks featured at the conference include: From Mobile Ideas to RTL; Verifying Complex Mobile Designs; Physical Verification and Implementation of Mobile Devices; Collaborative System Design for a Mobile World; Low Power Design from ESL to GDSI; and the new embedded systems-focused track, From SoC to Devices.

About the EDA Tech Forum

The EDA Tech Forum series brings together over 7,500 attendees annually from over 2,000 companies. It provides an excellent opportunity for designers and engineers to network with their peers and, conversely, for EDA solution providers to reach those markets. Event activities include keynotes discussing the latest EDA issues, hands-on workshops, a vendor fair with new product demonstrations, and technical breakout sessions in the aforementioned technical tracks.

In addition to the worldwide series of events, the EDA Tech Forum also offers the EDA Tech Forum quarterly technical journal, available as a printed or online publication. The magazine provides a forum in which to discuss, debate, and communicate the electronic industry's most pressing issues, challenges, methodologies, problem-solving techniques, and trends.

Sponsors of the EDA Tech Forum include Altera, ARM, Common Platform Group, Mentor Graphics, and The MathWorks, along with Polar Instruments, Accelicon Technologies, Apache, Blue Pearl, Breker, Cofluent Design, Exludus, Magwel and TSMC.
