Custom Silicon Solutions’ CSS555C is a micropower version of the popular 555 timer integrated circuit. The CSS555C adds the ability to program time delays ranging from microseconds to days and operates at extremely low power (ideal for battery-operated applications with a 10X improvement over all other 555 timer devices). The circuit includes a wide operating range of 1.2V to 5.5V with a temperature range of -40˚C to +85˚C. The CSS555C is pin-for-pin compatible with the standard 555 time circuits.
The CSS555C offers many additional features with tremendous value. Configuration data for the counter is held in EEPROM to maintain the standard pin count of eight. The analog circuits are temperature compensated to provide excellent stability over a wide temperature range. A simple four-wire interface provides Read/Write access to the EEPROM.
The CSS555C is available from CSS today in either an 8-pin DIP or an 8-pin SOIC package. Also, a Development Kit useful for programming this device is available. Please contact CSS directly for more information.
