Provigent Introduces Industry’s Most Highly Integrated Analog Transceiver IC for Wireless Backhaul

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 13, 2009 – Provigent, the leading provider of System-on-a-Chip (SoC) solutions for the Broadband Wireless Transmission market, announced the availability of the PVG710, an integrated analog Integrated Circuit (IC) for microwave backhaul.

“The PVG710 provides the most cost effective solution for the strict design requirements of microwave systems. It integrates the complete Intermediate Frequency (IF) chain, allowing for reduced complexity and manufacturing costs, with enhanced performance,." stated Ran Soffer, Provigent’s Vice President of Marketing. "The PVG710 gives customers the ability to reduce design cycles and system footprint. The PVG710 enable building systems with higher reliability and lower cost."

The PVG710 converts the interfaces of digital modem to or from the intermediate frequencies (IF) used for signal transmission between the IDU and Outdoor Unit (ODU). It includes receive/transmit synthesizers, mixers, gain stages and on chip filters. On the receive side it supports wide dynamic gain control range for cable compensation. On the transmit side the PVG710 includes a low noise amplifier stage to drive the cable. All of Provigent’s system solutions are designed to meet stringent ETSI and FCC transmission requirements.

The PVG710 and its full support package are available for integration and testing. It can also be connected to the PVG9610 (the PVG610 support package) for full system tests.
