eSilicon Provides ASIC Design, Design Flow and Manufacturing Services for Creative's New PCI-Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Series of Accelerated Audio Processors

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Apr 28, 2009 -- eSilicon Corporation, a pioneering semiconductor value chain producer (VCP) for custom application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), today announced that it has provided to Creative, a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for PC users, ASIC design services, custom design flow and manufacturing services for their new PCI-Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Series of Accelerated Audio Processors.

For this specific application, eSilicon performed the actual design, package layout and tailored a custom and flexible ASIC design flow to work with Creative's existing design and CAD tools flow. This engagement enabled a seamless database handoff between the two companies. Furthermore, the VCP also provided valuable manufacturing services for this new series of sound audio processors which included delivering production silicon.

"Creative and eSilicon were able to optimize the design through a joint floor-planning effort using the same CAD tools previously utilized by Creative's engineering team. Additionally, the database was exchanged using Magma's Volcano format, ensuring that all design intents and constraints were preserved," added Prasad Subramaniam, vice president of design technology for eSilicon.

Ultimately, eSilicon's involvement and expertise allowed Creative's engineering team to focus on the actual application design, rather than spending time learning a completely new design flow.
