CADEKA’s Triple DACs Optimized for Video and Graphics Applications

LOVELAND, Colo.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—February 8, 2009— CADEKA introduces a family of 8- and 10-bit triple DACs ranging from 100 to 180MSPS; CDK3400/CDK3401, CDK3402/CDK3403, and CDK3404. These high-speed digital-to-analog (D/A) converters are optimized for use in video, display, and graphics applications. The 8-bit CDK3404 offers a sampling frequency of 180MSPS making it well suited for display standards of 60Hz VGA (640 x 480), 72Hz SVGA (800 x 600), 75Hz XGA (1024 x 768), and 60Hz SXGA (1280 x 1024). It offers video signal conversion for RGB, YCBCR, and Composite, Y, C signals.

The CDK3404 operates from a single 3.3V supply and includes additional circuitry for bi-level sync and blanking level generation. The current-steering DACs have been specifically designed to produce standard video output levels when directly connected to a single-ended double-terminated 75-Ω coaxial cable.

High resolution, ease of use, and the extended temperature range of -40°C to +125°C make the CDK3404 an excellent choice for several video applications including: LCD displays, medical ultrasound, automotive entertainment, ultra-mobile personal computers (UMPCs), mini-USB to VGA connectors, and other multimedia systems.

Availability

All five products are available today in Pb-free, RoHS compliant packages. Budgetary 1,000 piece pricing:

  • CDK3400 - $9.57
  • CDK3401- $10.53
  • CDK3402 - $7.36
  • CDK3403- $8.17
