WHO: The Open SystemC Initiative (OSCI), an independent non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advancing SystemC as an industry-standard language for electronic system-level (ESL) design, announced the 7th Symposium on Electronic System-Level Design with SystemC . SUNDAY, JUNE 8 - NASCUG Meeting, 4:00-7:00pm, Anaheim Hilton

Opening Session/Reception, North American SystemC Users Group (NASCUG) Meeting. NASCUG sessions will include technical presentations on ESL and analog/mixed-signal design with SystemC and updates on the new TLM-2.0 standard.

MONDAY, JUNE 9 - Lunch Panel, 12:00-2:00pm, Anaheim Convention Center

Lunch Panel: "Real-World Advantages of the OSCI TLM-2.0 Standard for Model Interoperability and IP Reuse." Moderated by EDN's Ron Wilson, the panel examines the economic impact of TLM-2.0 on design and productivity. Panelists include Ken Tallo, Director of Virtual Platforms, SoC Enabling Group, Intel; Tauseef Kazi, Principal Engineer, Qualcomm; and Prakash Rashinkar, Director of Engineering, Rambus. Lunch is provided with pre-registration.

MONDAY, JUNE 9 - TLM-2.0 Workshop, 2:00-5:00pm, Anaheim Convention Center

Workshop: "OSCI TLM-2.0 in 2008 - A Leap Forward for Transaction-Level Modeling Standards." Details of the completed TLM-2.0 standard will be presented along with multiple examples demonstrating TLM-2.0's effectiveness. Documentation and course materials will be provided with pre-registration.

WHY: Worldwide momentum and SystemC adoption is growing. These events demonstrate the strength of OSCI and its dedication to providing mechanisms that allow collaboration and information exchange among members of the SystemC community. Transaction-level modeling (TLM) continues to grow in importance for architectural exploration, performance analysis, building virtual platforms for software development, and functional verification. The release of the TLM-2.0 standard in June marks the culmination of several years of intensive work, and is a significant step toward making interoperable transaction-level modeling a reality. With the introduction of the Analog/Mixed-Signal Extensions for SystemC, OSCI addresses to the need to define a unified and standardized system-level design and modeling language for embedded mixed-signal applications and systems.
