MediaTek Adopts Mentor Graphics Eldo for Their Library Characterization

WILSONVILLE, Ore.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Jan. 13, 2006— Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) and MediaTek, Inc. (TSE:2454) today jointly announced that MediaTek has adopted the Mentor Graphics Eldo(R) simulation tool as their standard SPICE simulator for memory characterization.

Eldo provides the high accuracy and impressive runtimes required for memory designs, and is compatible with existing memory characterization flows. Eldo is now one of the sign-off tools at MediaTek used for memory characterization.

"We are extremely pleased that MediaTek has adopted Eldo as their sign-off tool," said Jue-Hsien Chern, vice president and general manager, Deep Submicron Division, Mentor Graphics. "With 0.13 micrometers and below technologies, the complexity of designs and nanometer effects impose stringent demands on the accuracy and performance of the sign-off characterization tool. The adoption of Eldo by MediaTek demonstrates a superior technology for nanometer designs."

Eldo is the simulator chosen by IC silicon vendors and fabless design centers. Worldwide designers use Eldo on designs from the lowest complexity of a single cell to a system consisting of several hundred thousand transistors. Eldo speeds up the design and verification of complex analog/mixed-signal circuits.
