Toshiba Announces Satellite P35-S605 17-Inch Diagonal Widescreen Notebook with Desktop Power, Multimedia Features

IRVINE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 14, 2005— Toshiba's Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., and provider of industry-leading portable computers, projectors and other mobile-related services and products celebrating Toshiba's 20th anniversary of the first mass-marketed laptop computer, today introduced the company's next-generation Satellite(R) P35 series notebook, delivering desktop computing performance and a rich multimedia experience.

The Satellite P35-S605 notebook sports a 17-inch diagonal widescreen display with Toshiba TruBrite(TM) technology, 100 GB hard drive(1) spinning at 5400 rpm for quick file access, and DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive compatible with current DVD formats that nearly doubles a recordable DVD's storage capacity in DVD+R format.

Toshiba's latest Satellite P35 notebook includes a powerful 3.46 GHz Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 processor(2) 552 supporting HT Technology, ATI Mobility RADEON 9000 IGP graphics(3) controller, integrated Atheros(R) 802.11b/g wireless(4) technology and 512 MB memory(5). To heighten users' audio experience, the Satellite P35-S605 offers premium harman/kardon(R) speakers and SRS(R) TruSurround XT(TM) technology. A bridge media adapter supporting Secure Digital(R), Memory Stick(TM), Memory Stick PRO(TM), Multi Media Card and xD Picture Card is also included.

Both systems come with one-year limited warranties with Toshiba's premier global service for the mobile computing user. Extended limited warranties are available. Customers can choose from several service options, including carry-in support at Authorized Service Providers throughout the country, or utilizing any of more than 3,000 UPS Stores for packaging and delivery of the product to a centralized Depot for prompt service turnaround.

A 30-day free trial of MyConnect(TM) Internet Access Service ( is included which provides notebook computer users unlimited Internet access in hotels, airports, restaurants, bookstores, etc. via Wi-Fi(R), broadband cable or dial-up connection.
