Mentor Graphics Joins Ixia’s Xceed Technology Partner Program to Enhance the Verification and Security of Networking Chips

First public demonstration of joint solution at the Design Automation Conference

CALABASAS, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 8, 2016Ixia (Nasdaq: XXIA), a leading provider of network testing, visibility, and security solutions, today announced that Mentor Graphics has joined the Ixia Xceed™ Technology Partner program as a preferred electronic design automation (EDA) partner. This partnership results in enhanced verification capabilities for the Mentor® Veloce® Emulation Platform, and more specifically the Veloce Virtual Network (VN) App.

Semiconductor and electronic system manufacturers have rigorous testing requirements to ensure efficient delivery of quality products to market. These manufacturers require state-of-the-art virtualized tools, improved applications and security testing, and solutions that enhance the designer’s ability to debug system software early in a product’s lifecycle.

Mentor Graphics integrates Ixia’s virtual edition test solution –  IxNetwork® Virtual Edition (VE) – with the Veloce Emulation Platform, via the Veloce VN App, to accelerate the verification of complex networking chips. As a result, semiconductor and electronic system manufacturers have the ability to seamlessly integrate an Ixia virtual environment into an emulation-based verification flow, bringing the powerful advantages of emulation to the lab environment. This allows the reuse of traffic flow generation scripts for greater efficiency, improved debugging, and faster time-to-market.

“Growth in increasingly complex systems coupled with the advanced design of networking chips requires the use of powerful verification tools,” said Eric Selosse, vice president and general manager of the Mentor Emulation Division. “As a member of Ixia’s Xceed program, we gain the tight collaboration with Ixia that is required to help chip and systems makers speed delivery of high quality and secure products.”

The Ixia Xceed program enables Mentor to expand collaboration on joint solutions through preferred access to Ixia’s test solutions, verification expertise, and partner marketing. A demonstration of the first joint solution is available in the Mentor Graphics booth #949 at the Design Automation Conference, June 6-8, 2016, at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.

“In today’s race to get electronics and systems products to market, emulation offers great advantages for full-chip verification,” said Scott Westlake, vice president business development at Ixia. “We’re delighted to have Mentor as a key member of our technology partner program. It was a natural evolution in our relationship as we continue to work side by side to de-risk the challenges of complex chip designs.”
