Teradyne Introduces New Test System for the Power Semiconductor Industry

NORTH READING, Mass. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 29, 2016Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE: TER) introduces the ETS-88TH, the latest addition to the ETS-88 product line designed to test IGBT, MOSFET, and power module devices. The ETS-88TH provides an overall lower cost of test with the ability to combine AC and DC testing in a single device insertion.

The ETS-88TH features include:

  • AC-2500 Option – New instruments to test dynamic switching including waveform capture for AC parameters such as TDon/off, Trise/fall, Eon/off, Trr, Qrr, UIL, Qg.
  • Low Inductance signal path– Ability to test at higher power levels and faster switching speeds to increase device performance specification.
  • Multi-Sector Technology – Based on our testing, increases throughput by delivering >99% test efficiency for parallel applications and reduces test time by 50% for index parallel applications.
  • EagleVision MST Software – Allows faster time to market with powerful software tools for rapid device characterization and production development.

"The ETS-88TH has proven superior AC test performance for discrete and power module devices while lowering the cost of test for customers,” said Steve Price, Business Development Manager for Teradyne’s Consumer Power Business Unit. “With the AC-2500 instruments, the low inductance path and fast waveform transfer, customers benefit by providing higher device specifications, greater test coverage, and higher throughput.”
