WinterLogic to discuss major advancements in fault simulation technology at ITC 2015.

ROSEVILLE, MN, October 2, 2015 – WinterLogic, Inc., the industry leader in EDA fault simulation solutions, is presenting major developments in fault injection technologies this week at the International Test Conference (ITC).

Available on October 5st to selected beta testers, Z01X 3.1, WinterLogic’s next generation fault simulator, is driven by challenges in functional safety verification (ISO 26262) and security implementations in modern integrated circuits:

  • Transient fault model for soft error simulation. This includes SEU (Single Event Upset) and SET (Single Event Transient) faults. Transient faults can be configured to control for time of occurrence and duration.

  • New fault format for modeling complex faults, including single and multiple faults, permanent faults and time-dependent transient faults.

  • User-defined detection criteria for modeling complex detection behavior of safety or security mechanisms.

  • User-defined exclude classes for characterization of faults that should be removed from fault analysis.

Z01X is capable of exhaustively injecting faults throughout automotive devices to verify safety mechanisms and develop robust diagnostic tests in order to meet the automotive safety standards in ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.

Z01X is also deployed by DFT and test engineers in many different use-models to develop optimal manufacturing test vectors:

  • Zero defect projects. High volume consumer SoC such as high-end mobile devices, which sometimes exceed one-billion gates, can benefit from Z01X targeting the thousands of ATPG Undetected (AU) faults.

  • AMS devices. High performance mixed signal designs and IPs, such as SERDES or DDR PHY, can benefit from accurate coverage metrics of their loop-back, functional and BIST tests.

  • Non-scan devices. Z01X is the tool of choice for creating an optimal set of functional and BIST vectors for partial-scan or non-scan blocks such as full custom IP.
