Utah Scientific Chooses MACOM’s 12G-SDI Chipset for their New UHD Routing Platform

MACOM’s M23428 cable driver, M23554 equalizer and M23145 reclocker enable Utah Scientific’s UHD Routers

LOWELL, Mass. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — April 13, 2015 — M/A-COM Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. (“MACOM”), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for broadcast video infrastructure, announced today that Utah Scientific, a worldwide leader in routing and master control switchers, has chosen MACOM’s M23554 Adaptive Equalizer, M23145 Reclocker and M23428 Cable Driver for the 12G-SDI interconnects of its UDS-4K Universal Distribution System.

“As broadcast video evolves to UHD, 12G-SDI enables 4k60p video using the lowest power and highest density with the lowest cost. By collaborating with MACOM, UTAH Scientific can now offer customers the ability to switch and route ultra-high definition video with a single link connection rather than multiple 3G-SDI connections,” said Jeff Levie, CTO, Utah Scientific. “We are proud to deliver solutions that enable the broadcast industry to migrate to the next generation of video.”

“Our award winning 12G-SDI chipset facilitates broadcast video equipment manufacturers to bring the most efficient and cost effective solutions to market,” said Gary Shah, VP of Marketing, High-Performance Analog, MACOM. “We are dedicated to working with industry leaders such as Utah Scientific to make UHD production a reality.”

MACOM’s family of 12G-SDI products are currently shipping in volume. These MACOM products will be shown at NAB 2015 in booth N3115, April 13 – 16, 2015 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.
