Excellicon announces that Maxlinear adopted its products in order to optimize timing closure process

June 24, 2014 -- Carlsbad, CA - Excellicon Inc., an innovative provider of end-to-end Timing Constraints Analysis and Debugging solutions for the automation of constraints authoring, completion, validation, and management announced that its products were adopted by Maxlinear, a provider of highly integrated radio frequency and analog and mixed signal semiconductor SoC solutions for broadband communications applications. Excellicon tools are expected to help in increasing the efficiency of the Semiconductor development cycle with respect to timing closure of the final products, as well as improving their overall timing margins.

The adoption of Excellicon tools addresses the issue of multiple iterations between design and implementation teams, in which the timing constraints (SDC) design and validation are often the culprit of prolonged delivery schedules. The users of Excellicon tools can start from scratch or leverage existing timing constraints files in order to automate the development of their timing constraints used for placement and routing of the chip. By eliminating unnecessary iterations, designers are expected to achieve higher levels of accuracy and to be able to commit to more aggressive schedules.

“Excellicon’s solution enabled us to achieve a faster and more accurate path to timing closure. We tried other tools available on the market, but Excellicon’s products are the ones which allowed us to enhance our methodology to address constraints issues related to timing closure of our SOC’s and helped us to eliminate unnecessary iterations due to incomplete constraints.” said Dr. Paolo Miliozzi, Senior Director of SOC Technology and Physical Design at Maxlinear.
