Vitesse CTO to Address New Approaches for Small Cell Backhaul

CAMARILLO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- Aug 27, 2013 -- Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: VTSS), a leading provider of advanced IC solutions for Carrier and Enterprise networks, announced that Dr. Martin Nuss, chief technology officer at Vitesse, will join other industry experts in a technical panel discussion at the Layer 123 Packet Microwave and Mobile Backhaul Conference 2013 taking place at the Hilton Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Dr. Nuss will join experts from NEC and Tarana Wireless on the "New Approaches for Small Cell for LTE Hotspots" panel moderated by Maravedis-Rethink analyst, Esteban Monturus, on Wednesday, September 25, at 3:10 p.m. local time. As mobile networks are evolving to cope with the explosive data consumption and bandwidth requirements of mobile devices and users, small cells play an increasingly critical role in wireless carriers' 4G/LTE network upgrade strategies. Potential topics will include small cell deployment strategies, technology considerations for small cell backhaul, and best practices for delivering high capacity and coverage for LTE hotspots.

Dr. Nuss has over 20 years of technical and management experience and is a recognized industry expert in timing and synchronization for communications networks. Dr. Nuss serves on the board of directors for the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) and is a fellow of the Optical Society of America and IEEE member. He holds a doctorate in applied physics from the Technical University in Munich, Germany.
