Si2 to Host “DFM Standards: Driving Design Ecosystems from PDK's to Manufacturing” Workshop at SEMICON West

AUSTIN, Texas — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 22, 2011 — The Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) today announced the “DFM Standards: Driving Design Ecosystems from PDK's to Manufacturing” workshop being hosted at the SEMICON West show to be held at the Moscone Convention Center, Francisco, CA, from July 12-14, 2011. The workshop will be held on July 13, from 1:00PM – 4:00PM in Room 124 in the Lower North Hall Lobby in the Moscone Convention Center. A reception will follow the program. In consideration of today’s economic conditions, Si2 is pleased to offer this workshop free of charge to SEMICON West attendees, who can register for SEMICON West at: http://www.semiconwest.org/Participate/RegisterNow

The complexity of processes and rules needed to ensure the manufacturability of ICs is increasing rapidly with every new technology node. Many of the issues involving and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Process Design Kits (PDK’s) are interrelated and can be simplified, if not eliminated, by standardized industry practices. This workshop will highlight those interrelated standards and showcase the ongoing work being done by industry leaders in solving these problems.

The event will include presentations from IBM, Texas Instruments, LSI, Mentor Graphics, STMicroelectronics, SpringSoft, and Cadence. An abstract and detailed agenda can be found here http://www.semiconwest.org/node/7391
