NASCUG Call for Contributions is Open
The North American SystemC Users Group will hold its NASCUG XVI user meeting on Monday, June 6 in San Diego (co-located with the 2011 Design Automation Conference). NASCUG is calling for contributions from users discussing techniques of design, modeling and verification using SystemC.
The final contribution should be a PowerPoint or PDF slide presentation with duration of about 20 minutes. A title and an abstract can be submitted online at:
- Abstract Deadline: Friday, April 22, 2011
- Notification: Friday, April 29, 2011
- Final Slides Due: Monday, May 30, 2011

SystemC AMS 1.0 Standard Inside Industrial Design Flows for Mixed-Signal System Design
Recognized industry leaders NXP Semiconductors, STMicroelectronics and Infineon Technologies are integrating SystemC AMS extensions into their respective ESL design methodologies and mixed-signal design flows. The primary need is to enable the creation of mixed-signal virtual prototypes, where abstracted AMS models can be combined with the digital hardware/software subsystem for efficient and effective verification and validation of the entire system.
As part of a collaborative effort to extend the mixed-signal design flow with ESL design and verification, NXP, ST and Infineon contributed actively to the creation of OSCI's AMS Working Group in 2006, with the objective to develop a SystemC-based language extension for AMS.
"SystemC AMS is paving the way to develop virtual embedded analog and mixed-signal platforms to accelerate system-level validation, thus guaranteeing a direct path to silicon implementation," said Pier Luigi Rolandi, Analogue Mixed-Signal CAD Flows and Tools Department Director, STMicroelectronics. "This will help our customers significantly reduce design iterations, and consequently design costs, to deliver innovative and complete system solutions on time."

SystemC AMS Day
"Industry Adoption of the SystemC AMS Standard"
SystemC AMS Day is a free industry event where system integrators, modeling experts, EDA suppliers and system-level design and verification architects and engineers can share and exchange knowledge on the industrial application and benefits of using the emerging SystemC AMS 1.0 standard as the new system-level modeling language supporting mixed-signal ESL design and verification methodologies.
The event is organized by NXP, ST, Infineon and Fraunhofer and features industry speakers who will present the practical usage of the SystemC AMS standard in automotive, sensor, wired, wireless and other applications related to semiconductor/IC design, embedded system design and/or mixed-signal system-level architecture or concept development.
