MosChip’s MCS9990, MCS8142 and MCS8144 Chips Reach Volume Production With PLDA PCI Express® IP
Rigorous testing and impeccable design of the PLDA XpressRich2 IP provides the industry-standard, performance PCI Express interface required for MosChip’s design success SAN JOSE, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 19, 2009 — PLDA the industry leader in the high-speed bus IP market, announced that MosChip Semiconductor Technology, Ltd. has successfully launched their MCS9990 robust PCI Express to USB2.0 host controller, incorporating PLDA’s XpressRich2 PCI Express ASIC IP. MosChip, a leading provider of high performance connectivity solutions for consumer, industrial and computing applications, used the PLDA XpressRich2 PCI Express IP to provide a PCI Express interconnect within their host controller, helping to enable throughput of up to 2.5 Gbps. The MCS9990 is a single lane multi function PCI Express to USB2.0 Host Controller. It supports two modes of operation - USB Host mode and OTG mode, selectable through device mode select pins. The PLDA XpressRich2 ASIC IP is a high performance, silicon-proven solution for PCI Express Gen1 and Gen2 implementations at 130 nm and smaller geometries.
