Electron d'Or Acclaims Conformal Logic Equivalence Checker as Most Innovative EDA Product of 2002
PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2002--Verplex(TM) Systems Inc., the electronic design automation formal verification market and technology leader, has won the Electron d'Or award in France for EDA tool of 2002 for its high performance, market leading Conformal(TM) Logic Equivalence Checker (LEC). The Electron d'Or awards honor the best electronics products of the year as chosen by a jury of industry experts and end users. The panel cited Conformal's superior performance, capacity and ease-of-use as the reasons underpinning its success.
Conformal LEC has set new performance and usability standards for formal verification, combining increased performance and capacity with ease of use for the rapid and more reliable formal verification of full-chip designs. Crucially, Conformal performs advanced verification on all logic blocks of complex System on Chips (SOCs) from Register Transfer Level (RTL) to the final layout versus schematic (LVS) netlist. This added feature extends Verplex's market into the physical domain, enabling next-generation design tool users to compare final LVS netlists to their RTL golden designs helping them achieve functional closure faster and with more confidence. Furthermore, Conformal provides an independent audit of the design process, thereby catching bugs that tools which use shared technology frequently miss.
Sponsored by leading French electronics journal Electronique, Electron d'Or present awards across eleven categories, including processors, programmable logic, multimedia ICs, telecom ICs, EDA tools and software tools. Catherine Gross, chief technology editor at Electronique, comments: "Verplex has been chosen for its Conformal tool and formal verification technology, which provides high capacity, ease of use along with fast execution times, as needed today for the verification of multi-million gates SoCs."
Dino Caporossi, vice president of corporate marketing at Verplex, adds: "We are all extremely delighted that the hard efforts of our team in developing this first class tool have been recognized by Electron d'Or. Conformal's latest advancements at the LVS netlist level give us the formidable, unique capability to verify the latest physical design closure flows and puts us even further ahead of our competition."
The 2002 awards took place in June at a ceremony held at Groupe Tests' headquarters in Paris.
